Summary:	Large open and sheltered camp site with beautiful valley views and Vallejo Ganter hut for use in bad weather
Date of visit:	Easter 2013
Access:	Approximately 1 hours walk from Mt Howitt Car Park, 5.5 hours drive from Melbourne
Remoteness:	Remote camp site – popular during peak times
Water:	Macalister Springs located down from hut provides permanent fresh clean water
Camp sites:	Large sheltered area surrounded with snowgums and beautiful views of the valley. Site includes hut able to sleep at least 10 people – hut had two snakes at time of visit inside box.
Toilets:	Two pit toilets – one recently built spacious toilet with open window overlooking valley, second older style toilet also overlooking valley
Comments:	Large site with A frame style hut with loft and numerous sheltered camp sites (at least 8 camp sites) provide enough privacy for all

Summary:	Large open grassy remote camp site
Date of visit:	March 2013
Access:	Approximately 3 hours walk from The Reservoir Car Park, taking short cut. Longer way adds 10 minutes on fire access track (not as scenic). Vehicle access to The Reservoir car park closed during winter, adding 3km or 1 hour to walk
Remoteness:	Remote camp site so unlikely to get day trippers
Water:	No permanent water source. Nearby creek was dry during visit.
Camp sites:	Large open area surrounded with views of plains. Unlimited camp spots with small number that are sheltered.
Toilets:	Pit toilet with split door allows provide views of surrounds, approximately 5 minutes walk away
Comments:	Large remote site for access to Mt McLeod. Not an ideal site in summer due to lack of water source.
